I love, love, love Pinot Nior. This is one of those wines that lives up the description on the back label. This is my newest favorite pinot nior for less than $20, but drinks like a $50
I really dig Carneros for pinot Nior. I’m loving Santa Barbara and Monterey. This is one of those Pinot Niors that Cabernet lovers will love, but it is a pinot Nior.
I got strawberry and cherry on the nose with a hint of vanillin, which are all present in the first sip.
The part the blew me away was its almost creamy texture. Sometimes wines are described a buttery, this is not that, the mouth feel is velvety and luxurious.
The wine had a medium finish and an acidic interlude.
This is an excellent surf and turf wine. If you are at a restaurant with some having salmon, others having pork or steak and others having vegan, this wine satisfies all.
Another pick from my friends at Stu Leonard’s
