Our New Air Fryer

Updated: Apr 22, 2022

We have put it off for a very long time, but when we saw this unit on sale for $179, at Crate and Barrel in Paramus, we grabbed it. Talk to Tina. I guess the date is relevant here as the post gets older - so April 16, 2022 - we can use this to measure inflation for small home appliances.

We replaced our old toaster oven which was the exact same width, but half the height.

After my fist use, I fully understand why it was on sale. Millennials is why it was on sale. Millenials want a digital timer with blue tooth so it can tell them what time they will need to go to the bathroom after eating.

Since I have eyes and a nose, I don’t need a fully digital display with exact time and temperature. I can look at the food in the oven and see if it looks done. This was the first mistake I made with the oven. I set it for 20 minutes and then waited for the ding, instead of just cooking like normal. Now that all said, I do set timer's on my phone to remind me to look. This is because, well, life.

So far it has met my expectations and shows promise. My biggest concern before purchasing was to know if it was going heat the house. The goal for purchasing the air fryer was to be able to bake in the summer.

So far, so good, it did not heat the house up. It is small, so I won’t be making pizza in the new air fryer, but the first two focaccias look good.

Today I air fried chicken thighs. In 20 – 25 minutes I had crispy, done to perfection chicken thighs. So far I am loving this oven.
