Let's take a trip to deliciousness.
After much practice, I think I have reverse engineered the Chilies "Presidente Margarita"
2 oz. tequila – Casamigos or Don Julio or your favorite tequila
½ oz. Cointreau or Triple Sec
½ oz. Presidente Bandy – or your favorite brandy
½ oz. Agave Nectar (syrup)
1 oz. fresh lime juice
My favorite margaritas include Chilies margaritas. Love the Presidente and the “El Niño” margaritas. Before 911, there was a place in Tribeca called “Teddy’s”, my god I miss that place. There is a great place in Garfield that just opened a location near the American Dream Mall named La Fortaleza. They too have awesome margaritas.
Anyhow, many places use a margarita mix or sour mix, but this leaves that artificial bitter lemon taste.
You need fresh limes to make this work. Don’t go crazy squeezing the limes, sometimes you can impart a bitter taste by squeezing over zealously.
