Joseph Carr – Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 from Paso Robles

Updated: Apr 2

written September 2023

Wow, wow, wow, it looks like Paso Robles is my new favorite place for Cabernet, well, one of them.

This is another Paso Robles powerhouse that for less than $20 per bottle, drinks like a $40 bottle and is so enjoyable on its own, but also pair with all of the typical Cabernet Sauvignon pairings and then some. I think this would pair well with some desserts.

Great young red color with ripe and dried fruit on the nose. This is an explosive wine with lively upfront fruit, plums, raisins, prunes, berries, oh my.

Very light acid, and light tannins, with a long luxurious finish.

Have it with steaks, burgers, ribs, alone, with friends, Midnight Moon Cheese, Comte, Gruyere, dark chocolate, just enjoy it.

BTW – this was another excellent pick from my friends at Stu Leonard’s.
