New Zealand produces some formidable wines, and I’m certain that I’ve never had a Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand that I didn’t like.
I love it when the vintner takes the time to describe the wine on the back label, and while, I don’t know what a gooseberry tastes like, I certainly concur about the passionfruit and melon.
It has a classic Sauvignon Blanc nose, but absent the “cat piss”. Maybe this is more from the Loire Valley in France. Certainly if you smell this next to other whites, you can pick out which is the Sauvignon Blanc.
I like it chilled, but as it warms, it takes on other characteristics that are equally interesting.
Right now I’m having it with some hummus and pretzel chips, but I would certainly pair this with seafood or any pasta including pasta in any kind of cream sauce.
I left out the price info as this was a gift from a very special lady, but you can google it.
